How
the HERMES Race was Bred
for
the German Programme
It
was enough to have a hand-full of selected pigeons because the
primary target was the offspring of the world-famous OUDE MERCKX
B-67-62820316 of the Janssen Brothers from Arendonk. The
world-famous VELO B-74-6108765, a direct son of OUDE MERCKX,
demonstrated his class in our breeding loft for 10 years.
Another mainstay in our breeding loft was the granddaughter of
OUDE MERCKX and the daughter of the world-famous 019, B-79-6263
312. Add to that a top inheritor from the loft of the Janssen
Brothers, known as WEIßSCHWANZ B-77-6269098 as an annual AS
bird from Arendonk. The DICKE BLAUE B-94-6263829 from Arendonk
turned out to be a top inheritor, while his brother was also an
AS pigeon from Arendonk. His mother B-90-6311738 flew in the
following top prizes: Quievrain: 1., 3., 3., 8., 10., 15., 15.,
17. and 18., the ancestor pigeon of Jef Lauwerts. The incestuous
ancestor in the 6th generation of brother-sister
mating was purchased after the death of Dr. Meyer from Hamburg.
He comes from the famous loft of the DE KLAK line 'De Meeuw, De
Rappe, Bange 51 and Jonge Vechter'.

The
combination 07944-81-127 and LADY BARCELONA produced world-class
pigeons. They provide the same strength of inheritance over
generations on the same high level. A coincidence also
accelerated the construction of our loft. The BLUE WITOGER
B-73-6296505 with 24 first competitions without doubling was a
living legend in Arendonk in its own time. It was a top
inheritor in our breeding loft even if he didn't have a
pedigree. The hen B-81-3339758 from Emil Deweerdt was a
wonderful breeding hen. Her mother, LIESBET B-78-3402098, flew
in the 1. national Barcelona in 1981 with 6,729 pigeons.
I also should not forget to mention that my friend, PIET DE
WEERD, made a great contribution to successfully building up a
stock. The breeding bird PIET B-76-6371889 introduced by him and
the hen NL-76-311995 was the success story beyond compare. PIET
from the MEULEMANNS loft, the brother of the famous KADET,
WITNEUS and TIGER, is the stand-alone ancestor bird of our loft.
The hen NL-76-311995 is a daughter of NL-69-2117575 that is a
brother of the famous DOLLE from Martha van Geel. These very few
excellent species ancestor pigeons were enough to build up a
stock that is beyond compare in Germany in the medium-distance
route. Our success is proof of that.
