Ars
Nominendi
The art of naming international winners in the Vlaanders Cup and Coup de
Wallonie Team Competitions in 2002. These were the trophies still
missing in Raymund Hermes' collection. Like no other flight, the
Vlaanders Cup and Coup de Wallonie Team Competitions will be decisive at
the International Barcelona Flight. It keeps the pigeon world breathless
all around the world while filling the front pages of magazines
everywhere. This is where the first ten pigeons on the list (meaning the
first 10 named) are rated. At the Vlaanders Cup, birds and females can
be named while there are only females at the Coup de Wallonie. It's also
not easy to select the pigeons for these competitions. This is
especially true if there are 91 pigeons going to the starting gates as
was the case in Sieg 2002 since the pigeons have to have class and you
have to have a solid knowledge of pigeons to select the eligible ones.
But the real art of pigeon naming is pre-naming the right pigeons. Of
course, for the Hermes pigeons in Hamm/Sieg and Althornbach in West
Palatinate, these major prizes are not the only highlights in the past
European world long-distance competitions. After all, these lofts and
the Hermes-Neuhoff Loft have long since achieved world renown with their
extraordinary list of prizes.
This report supplies background knowledge to explain the secrets of the
success they have been having on the European level for 20 years. And,
as an introduction to analysing their success, we would like to showcase
ten amazing prizes the pigeons of Raymund Hermes won against the fund
elite in Europe.
