Winner of the Cup of Vlaandern. Best performance with the first ten named contestants on an international scale. Placed 10 out of 10 possible. But that wasn't enough. They also won the Coup de Wallonie. They pulled the same trick on the international list of hens, namely all placed out of 10 possible even with different teams. Hermes Barcelona rolled from one goal to the next and they picked up most international prizes on the overall list and with hens almost without effort. That's the first time that has happened in the history of Barcelona. The logical consequence is electing Hermes, the breeder from Hamm/Sieg, as the best player in Europe.

Raymund Hermes has had a name in international pigeon competition for many years. Together with his friend Albert Neuhoff under the name of Hermes-Neuhoff, these breeders are the top performers in the racing association programme. Raymund Hermes also a top-breeder on the international long distance races. It doesn’t matter to them if it's the lofts in Hamm/Sieg (Uwe Hermes) or Althornbach (Heiko Hermes), the grand old master and man behind it all is Raymund Hermes.
